Dr. Tom Ronning, Dr. Hunter Smith, and Dr. Erik Volkmeier are of a few in the profession that practice Chiropractic Biophysics, a cutting edge technique that has undergone extensive research to prove how it can slow, halt and even reverse subluxation and the degeneration process that is inevitable without proper spinal maintenance. Each Doctor has extensive training beyond their Doctorate in Chiropractic including Chiropractic Biophysics, Pettibon Technique, Clear Institute, Max-Living, Rock Tape, Graston Technique and many more.

Dr. Tom Ronning, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic and Athletic Trainer
Dr. Tom Ronning is known for his high energy, genuine passion, and commitment to helping people achieve their highest level of health. He has been invited to speak to audiences of thousands, where he educates and inspires individuals and families to take a proactive approach to lifelong wellness.
Dr. Tom has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Bethel University, where he completed over 1,000 clinical hours preventing, evaluating, and treating athletic injuries. He went on to receive his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University.
Since earning his doctorate, Dr. Tom has continued advanced training across the country, developing expertise in corrective care through programs such as CBP (Chiropractic Biophysics), Clear Institute, Pettibon, and other leading postural and structural correction methods.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Tom enjoys an active life with his four children. You will often find him boating on Lake Minnetonka or enjoying outdoor activities such as golfing, wake surfing, fishing, tennis, basketball, pickleball, scuba diving, motorcycling, and snowmobiling.

Dr. Hunter Smith, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Hunter Smith was born and raised in Anoka, MN and has a passion for helping individuals and families stay active and healthy. With a strong athletic background, he played baseball into college and understands firsthand the importance of proper movement, injury prevention, and performance.
Dr. Hunter earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University. He is known for his energy, personable approach, and commitment to educating patients so they feel confident and supported throughout their care.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hunter enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and playing baseball. He is married to his high school sweetheart and values time spent outdoors and with family.

Dr. Eric Volkmeier, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Eric Volkmeier grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota, where he developed a love for sports and staying active. He played baseball and soccer growing up before finding his passion for ultimate frisbee in high school. He was also deeply involved in the Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Dr. Eric earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, graduating in 2021. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2024.
He believes that pain is complex and influenced by many factors, which is why he embraces the biopsychosocial model of care. Dr. Eric focuses on restoring proper spinal structure and motion as a foundation for healing, trusting the body’s innate intelligence to function at its best when interference is removed. His goal is to help patients move better, feel better, and confidently return to the activities they love.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Eric continues to play competitive ultimate frisbee and coaches at the University of St. Thomas. He also enjoys camping, going to movies and breweries, and spending time at home with his girlfriend and their cat, Mango.

Rylyn Fink
Rylyn Fink grew up in Sioux Falls, SD and recently graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Business Marketing
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing pickleball and baking new treats! Rylyn’s favorite thing about working at Align is the energy at the practice and creating relationships with practice members.
